What is
The Process
At Commedia of Errors, we've always taken pride in championing and developing artists — from working with fresh graduates in our productions to delivering training with organisations like The Lir Academy, Lyric Studio, QUB and Belfast Met.
But we also recognise a real gap: opportunities to grow and learn directly from industry professionals — the kind of support that shaped our own journey over the past 15 years of professional work.
That’s why we’re launching The Process — a new strand of our work that formalises what we’ve long believed in: creating space to Explore. Develop. Create.
Whether you're a student, an emerging voice, an established writer, or a passionate hobbyist — we believe Northern Ireland deserves more spaces for artistic growth, creative risk-taking, and craft development.
We can’t wait to share what we know, and collaborate with those who know more.

Autumn Playwriting Course
Autumn Weekend Playwriting Course led by professional playwright and Commedia of Errors co-creative Clare McMahon (The Gap Year, I am Maura, Shakespeare’s Women), this hands-on weekend playwriting course is designed to help participants learn by doing. The course begins with a relaxed introductory session on a Saturday morning — a chance to get to know one another and to set up the reading and preparatory work for weekend, plus a fancy hot beverage from our friends across the road at Napolean Coffee, because every writer needs a fancy coffee to get started.
