Casting Call - Plays Aloud Actor/Singers

Plays Aloud brings specially developed live performance to older audiences, touring to care homes, folds, sheltered housing units and dementia care facilities across Northern Ireland.

Commedia of Errors seek a strong actor/singer to join their award-winning Plays Aloud tour this Summer and to widen their pool of performers for future opportunity.

Performers should be strong singers with the ability to sing in a diverse range of styles. They should be warm, friendly, great communicators, responsive and adaptable. An instrument is a bonus but not imperative please indicate if you/your client plays to a high performance standard.

Plays Aloud is a Dementia Friendly performance and actors will be directed and trained to engage with older, vulnerable audience members with our award-winning style of interaction.

Plays Aloud Project Coordinator - (Maternity Cover Fixed Term)

Commedia of Errors are delighted to be seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team on a fixed-term basis (9–12 months maternity cover).

The Project Coordinator role is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and aims to maintain Plays Aloud’s output as well as support its ongoing growth and development during the remaining time of this three-year funded project and beyond.

Plays Aloud uses the arts to build engagement between older people living in care homes, nursing homes and dementia care facilities in Northern Ireland, helping to develop and grow communities and improve mental health and wellbeing.

Starting in 2017, the programme offers dementia-specialist, nostalgia-based performances of music, poetry and comedy and a diverse programme of arts workshops for older people living in care.
