Introducing The Process
At Commedia of Errors, supporting and nurturing artists has always been central to what we do — whether that’s working with fresh graduates on our productions, or delivering training with esteemed organisations like The Lir Academy, Lyric Studio, Queen’s University Belfast, and Belfast Met.
But over the years, we’ve seen a real gap.
While there’s no shortage of talent in Northern Ireland, there are far fewer structured opportunities for that talent to develop with guidance from working professionals — the kind of support that helped shape our own journeys over the last 15 years.
That’s why we’re launching The Process: a bold new strand of our work that formalises something we’ve believed in from the start — creating space to Explore. Develop. Create.
What is The Process?
The Process is a space for:
Students hungry to go beyond the classroom
Emerging voices ready to take creative risks
Established creatives seeking fresh inspiration
Passionate hobbyists wanting to grow their craft
It’s a programme designed to help artists dig deeper into their practice, test ideas, learn from working professionals — and most importantly, to make work.
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to reignite your spark, The Process is for you.
Off to a Flying Start

Autumn Playwriting Course – SOLD OUT!
Our 2 day deep-dive into the art and craft of playwriting filled up fast — a clear sign that the appetite for this kind of space is real.
Creative Reset with Michael Curran-Dorsano – Coming this November
A practical and reflective session to help artists reconnect with their creative practice, led by experienced writer, performer and educator Michael Curran-Dorsano.
Playwriting at the Playhouse (Derry~Londonderry) – Launching soon
We're partnering with The Playhouse for a new workshop that brings The Process to writers in the North West. More details coming soon!
Why Now?
Northern Ireland is bursting with creative energy — but too often, artists are expected to reach the product of performance without the time to percolate, hone and craft their work. At Commedia of Errors, we know how transformative the right support at the right time can be.
The Process is our way of giving back, and moving forward — creating a space where development, risk-taking and collaboration are at the heart of the work.
We can’t wait to share what we’ve learned — and learn from others along the way.
