Commedia of Errors today announce the appointment of Artistic Director Benjamin Gould as the new Managing Director of Portico of Ards, the award-winning arts and heritage centre in Portaferry.

Since founding the company in 2014, Benjamin and Clare McMahon have grown and developed Commedia of Errors into the flourishing company it is today, creating, managing and delivering new productions and programming to audiences and beneficiaries across Northern Ireland and beyond.

Benjamin said: “I’m so delighted to have the support of the Board, staff, and my creative partner Clare McMahon, to take on this new opportunity and follow my dreams of managing an arts centre. Commedia of Errors will continue to deliver outstanding work with an exceptional staff, Board and from a strong financial base. Portico is an exceptional venue and, by bringing all I’ve learnt with Commedia of Errors, I look forward to helping shape a richer, more, vibrant arts landscape in Northern Ireland. I cherish my work for Commedia of Errors and am excited to continue delivering for the company while stepping into an exciting new challenge at Portico.”

To facilitate his new role, Benjamin will transition to working one day a week for Commedia of Errors. He will remain as CEO and Artistic Director.
